PURPOSE:To realize autofocusing photographing with excellent operability by using an interchangeable lens for the conventional manual focusing in a single lens reflex camera. CONSTITUTION:This camera is provided with a means consisting of a range- finding element 11 for measuring a distance to a subject 3, and means consisting of a driving circuit 16 and a driving device 12 for executing focusing by moving an image-formation surface in an optical axis direction based on the range- finding means. By turning on a main switch, a film surface 7 is moved to a nearly central part within a movable range. In such a state, the distance ring of the lens is manually operated to execute focusing. Thereafter, by half- depressing a release button, the operation of AF of back focus control is performed to execute focusing. A system having the operability of conventional manual focusing though it is autofocusing is obtained without impairing the conventional lens system, and the focusing speed of AF is made high, and the operability is drastically made excellent in comparison with the conventional camera. |
