PURPOSE:To provide an image forming device capable of stably driving a developing unit selecting unit with respect to big load fluctuations, with the constitution of a low cost. CONSTITUTION:The start-up profiles (prf) 1-5 and speed reduction profiles (prf) 6-10 of a stepping motor are set in five stages respectively and the start-up and speed reduction profiles are selected in accotdance with fluctuations in the load of the developing unit selecting unit by using the residual toner of a developing unit detected by a residual toner detecting means as the weight parameter of the developing unit. The stepping motor is driven in accordance with the selected profile, to stably drive the developing unit selecting unit. |
