PURPOSE:To copy an object, especially a three-dimensional object, larger than a platen, on which an original image is placed, and to provide a high quality duplicated image. CONSTITUTION:A surface exposure unit 200 is arranged around a port, 12c of a machine base 12. Reflecting mirrors 206, 208 and a lens unit 210 are arranged inside a casing 202, and in this way, an image of a three-dimensional object (a man, for example) situated in the position facing a transparent glass plate 204 is reflected by the reflecting mirrors 206, 208, and its image can be formed on a photosensitive face of a photosensitive material 16 at the predetermined magnification by means of the lens unit 210. A shutter 212, which is arranged between the reflecting mirror 208 and the lens unit 210, is opened when the photosensitive material 16 is stopped once in the notch position of a guide plate 27. In this surface exposure unit 200, which is applicable to the image formation of a large size document which is impossible to be placed on a transparent glass plate 45 on the platen 12A, the three-dimensional object, or the like, the image can be exposed on the photosensitive material 16 in advance of a scanning exposure unit 22. |
