METHOD AND DEVICE FOR THE EXPANSION OF TOBACCO

The method and the device guarantee considerable increase of the tobacco quantity treated in high pressure impregnation systems. By the method, the tobacco can be impregnated in an impregnation high pressure zone and be removed from that zone for expansion in a complete time cycle smaller than one minute, usually less than 15 to 30 seconds. The tobacco quantity also increase by more efficient use of the available treatment space in the high pressure impregnation zone. The invention is also related to methods for minimizing the quantity of the impregnation agent used for the tobacco treatment.
