Friction damper

The invention describes a friction damper in which a tubular piston (14) having a holder (15) at one end slides in a tubular component (1) while being guided. The component (1) has a further holder (5) at one end and a tubular housing (7) at the other end. Arranged in the housing is a brake insert whose margins form a chamber between them and the piston (14). The movement of the piston (14) in the tubular component (1) is braked by elastic extension of the margins of the brake insert. <IMAGE>
