The thermal print head holder comprises an arm (1) which is mounted pivotably at its one end on an axle (2) and can be retained in at least one pivoted position by means of a retaining device (4, 5, 9), and whose other end is connected via two springs (20, 26) and via a holding device to a holding frame (19) for a thermal print head (24) which has a number of heating elements (25) which can be actuated electrically individually and are brought into contact, under the pressure of the springs (20, 26) on the outer surface of a back pressure roll (27) in such a way that a recording medium and, if appropriate, a thermal transfer ink ribbon can be guided through between the heating elements (25) and the back pressure roll (27). In order to provide a thermal print head holder which is constructed and can be assembled in a simple manner and can thus be produced cost-effectively, the holding device comprises at least two screws (9, 28) which are screwed into the holding frame (19) and are guided in each case in a bore (11, 11') of the arm (1) and whose heads (13, 29) are designed as stops for the arm (1). <IMAGE>
