Automatically opening secondary-air opening during the burning of wood in fireplaces by using a bimetallic spring

During the burning of wood in fireplaces, once the temperature is reached either the primary-air opening of the fireplace is automatically closed by a regulator, or the operator of the fireplace closes the primary-air opening by hand. In both cases, the oxygen required for combustion is withdrawn and this has a detrimental effect on the combustion (formation of smoke and tar). The automatically opening secondary-air opening prevents this. In order to provide the fireplace with the required oxyten during the burning with wood, an automatically opening secondary-air opening with a bimetallic spring is provided on the upper fire door, said opening always supplying the fuel with sufficient oxygen. The automatically opening secondary opening with a bimetallic spring is suitable for all fireplaces which are run on wood and have an upper and a lower fire door.
