A warning lamp for use on vehicles or roadways comprises a conical light-transmitting body 41, a head unit 42 mounted inside the body and incorporating a reflector 45 containing a light source, a base unit 43 also mounted inside the body, and self-contained means within the body for electrically and intermittently energizing the source. The energizing means comprises a battery and an interchangeable circuit module for determining the flashing frequency of the source, both of which are mounted in the base unit, and a pulse and rectifier assembly mounted in the head unit, the two units being separable form one another. The source is preferably a xenon or krypton tube, and the reflector has a parabolic internal reflective surface with its axis parallel to the axis of the body 41. |
