PURPOSE:To devise the optical submarine system that the extension, maintenance and operation of the system are easily implemented. CONSTITUTION:The system is made up of an optical cable 11 consisting of a major optical fiber pair 31 and of a sub optical fiber pair 32, an optical branching device 51 separating the optical fiber pair 32 into 1st and 2nd branched optical fiber pairs 41, 42, a redundant optical cable 43 being an extension of the 1st and 2nd branched optical fiber pairs 41, 42, and a terminator 61 provided at the end of the cable 43, and the extension, maintenance and operation of the system are implemented through the terminator 61. |
