PURPOSE:To prevent meaningless repetition of retransmission by extracting transmission fault causes in detecting a transmission fault at the time of transmission of a message, deciding enabled/disabled retransmission at each cause and applying control of other retransmission numbers at each cause if enabled. CONSTITUTION:If the transmission is failed, a facsimile procedsure controller 23 informs a bit of transmission fail information to a central control unit 25A. Retransmission control processing function section 27 uses the bit of transmission failure information of the controller 23 to read causes of transmission fault and to discriminate whether or not the retransmission is to be executed. The retransmission control processing function section 27 is provided with a transmission counter while being classified by T1, T2 and the causes of fault, and the counter counts up in response to each cause. Further, the retransmission specified number of times is provided while being classified by the causes of fault. Thus, the meaningless repetition of the retransmission is reduced by the control of the number of times of retransmission and the transmission of a message whose picture quality is deteriorated is decreased. |
