Additive granules for concrete articles and constructions are produced by (a) mixing clay material with calcium carbonate and ammonium sulphate, (b) forming the mixt. into granules, and (c) heating the granules to a temp. at which they expand. The wt. ratio of calcium carbonate to ammonium sulphate is 2:3. 2-5% wt. calcium carbonate is used, based on clay. The granules give light constructive concrete of high quality, as a result of the high strength of the granules, and are relatively cheap.
|
