PURPOSE:To reduce the size of a one-way clutch and to improve power transmission capacity by disposing a retainer having pockets for storing a roller, which is independent of an outer ring and turned in a body with an inner rotating member by a friction member between the outer ring and the inner rotating member. CONSTITUTION:Cam surfaces 11 are formed with separation at six equal distances of the periphery on the inner peripheral surface of an outer ring 10. A retainer 20 is fitted in the outer ring 10 in such a manner as to rotate relatively. A roller 40 stored in a pocket 21 of the retainer 20 is disposed between the cam surface 11 and the outer peripheral surface of a shaft 30. The peripheral apace of the pocket 21 is a little larger than the diameter of the roller 40, and lip portions 22, 23 having an interval smaller than the diameter of the roller 40 are formed on the inner end of the inner peripheral surface. Soft lip type friction members 50 are solidly formed in the peripheral direction of the inner peripheral surface of the retainer 20 to be brought into sliding contact with the outer peripheral surface of the shaft 30. Accordingly, with the same outside dimension, power transmission capacity can be increased, and with the same number of rollers, the outside diameter can be decreased. |
