ROLLER MANUFACTURING APPARATUS

PURPOSE:To enhance the quality of the surface state of a roller when the roller taken out of a baking furnace is quenched. CONSTITUTION:In such a state that the upper journal part 3 of a roller 1 is grasped and the other journal part 3 thereof is turned downwardly, the roller 1 is dipped in a cooling liquid 50. When the lower journal part 3 of the roller 1 is dipped in the cooling liquid 50, the falling of the roller 1 is stopped for several sec to lower the temp. of the journal part 3 a little. Thereafter, when the whole of the roller 1 is dipped in the cooling liquid 50, no irregular patterns are generated on the surface of the roller 1 and the roller 1 is smoothly finished.
