PURPOSE:To restrict deterioration in heating feeling by a method wherein the number of rotation of an outdoor fan is increased when the temperature at a discharging pipe is deceased only by the difference of set zone from its target zone during a heating operation. CONSTITUTION:When an air conditioner performs a heating operation, the output of a controller 7 is inputted to a fan control means 10 and compared with a predetermined zone difference set in a zone difference setting means 11. As a result of comparison, when the temperature (td) at a discharging pipe of a compressor is judged to be lower by the set zone difference than that of its target zone, the fan control means 10 increases the number of rotations of an outdoor fan 12 for use in blowing surrounding air to an outdoor heat exchanger 5. Consequently, a heat absorbing capability of the outdoor heat exchanger 5 is increased and as a result, the frosting speed for the outdoor heat exchanger 5 can be decreased, so that it is possible to extend the period of a defrosting operation. Thus it is possible to restrict deterioration of the heating feeling caused by troublesome defrosting operation.
