<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a silica-contg. film-forming liq. coating capable of forming a coating film excellent in properties and capable of highly leveling an uneven surface coated therewith, by using a modified polysilazane obtd. through a reaction of a polysilazane with an alcohol compd. CONSTITUTION:A polysilazane having at least recurring units of the formula (wherein R1, R2 and R3 are each H or 1-8C alkyl) is reacted with an alcohol compd. to obtain a modified polysilazane, a soln. of which is then prepared. The polysilazane may be either linear or cyclic, and desirably has a wt.-average mol.wt. of 500 to 10,000. The alcohol compd. may be a satd. or unsatd. aliph., arom., alicyclic or heterocyclic alcohol. The polysilazane/alcohol mixing molar ratio is desirably in the range of 99.9/0.1 to 1/2. The resulting resinous substance is dissolved in an org. solvent to prepare the soln. having a solid content of 3 to 40wt.%.</p> |
