PURPOSE:To produce a new azo compound useful as a dye compound of ink for ink jet recording, giving a high image concentration on plain paper, capable of clear and high-quality printing, forming an image excellent in water resistance, improving fixing properties of ink and not causing clogging of a nozzle. CONSTITUTION:A dye compound of the formula (Pc is a skeleton of a phthalocyanine molecule; X is a divalent combining group derived from an aliphatic diamine; Y is a nitrogen-containing six-membered ring; R1 is a hydroxyethyl group-containing organic group; R2 is a carboxyl group-containing organic group; M is an alkaline metal, ammonium or an organic ammonium; p is an integer of 1 to 4; q is 0 or 1). This compound is synthesized according to a method described in, e.g. 'RIRON,SEIZO-SENRYOKAGAKU' by Yutaka Oda. |
