PURPOSE:To obtain a planar type branch line which can be made into high-frequency one and is hopeful about a milliwave IC-implemented hybrid, by using a plane circuit such as a strip conductor and a slot cavity. CONSTITUTION:This line is composed of input-output ports 1 to 4, input-output microstrip line 11, anti-podal slot lines 12 and 13, slot cavity 14, and strip conductor 15; the front side of the dielectric substrate is shown by solid lines, and the earth side on the reverse of the dielectric substrate by dotted lines. This is inherent in a parallel type branch line and when characteristic impedance of strip line 11 is denoted by Z0, characteristic impedance values of anti-podal slot lines 12 and 13 formed of slot cavity 14 and strip conductor 15 should be Z0 and Z0/Z<1/2> respectively. However, overlapping conductors 14 and 15 each other, namely, making (t) negative can give line 13 low impedance. |
