Vitamin D derivs. of formula (I) are new. In (I) X = H or OH, R1 and R2 = H, 1-6C hydrocarbyl, or together with C (asterisk) bearing the X gp. can form a 3-8C carbocyclic ring; Q = single bond or 1-8C hydrocarbylene diradical; Hydrocarbylene = residue after removal of 1 or 2H from hydrocarbon; m = 0, 1 or 2. R1, R2 Q opt. substd. with deuterium or F; C(.) atom opt. substd. by deuterium, F or 1-2C alkyl gp. and derivs. of (I) where OH gp. are O-acyl, O-glycosyl gp. f or phosphate ester, or masked gp. hydrolysable in-vivo. Also described 1(S),3(R)-bis-tert-butyldimethyl silyloxy-2O(R)-2,2-dichlorovinyl-9, 10-seco-pregna-5(E),7(E),10(19)-triene as an intermediate. |
