SEPARATION AND PREPARATION OF BIO-ACTIVE POLYSACCHARIDE FROM BACTERIA

The preparation method of polysaccharide (I) of Streptococcus faecalis ATCC 19433 (II) consists of (1) extracting crushed (II) with chloroform to remoul nonpolar material and obtain the remainder, (2) adding 3-4 volume of ethanol or methanol to get crude (I), (3) adding 5-15% of barium sulfate to crude (I) solution to get complex, and (4) dissoling complex in 100mM ammonium citrate. (I) is useful for lowering the concentration of triglyceride in blood.
