This invention aims at efficiently growing a plant, such as a strawberry from the runners of which seedlings are to be picked. According to the present invention, a seedling picking method is provided as a means for achieving this object, in which a plant bed is disposed in a high place, a plurality of linked runners being grown in a hanging state from a parent plant planted in the plant bed, water absorbers being fixed in the air to rooting portions at the at the connections of the runners, water being sprinkled in the air over the water absorbers to have the rooting portions take take root to grow seedlings, the runners being then cut off in the air at the portions thereof which are in front of and at the back of the seedlings, whereby the seedlings are picked. <IMAGE> |
