PURPOSE:To automatically switch to a map display state when an area near a set destination/passage point is reached even if a television/VTR is being displayed. CONSTITUTION:A current location is detected by a position detection means 1 and the corresponding map data are read from a map data storage means 2 and a map display video signal generation means 5 generates the first video signal of the map image based on them. On the other hand, a television video signal generation means 6 generates a second video signal of television/VTR, etc. A video signal selection means 7 selects either a first video signal or a second video signal and then sends it to a display means 4. When an area near the destination/passage point set by a destination/passage point setting means 3 is detected, a device control means 9 forcealy changes over to the state where the first video signal is to be sent to the display means 4 even if the second video signal is being displayed. |
