The present invention relates to electronic converter devices powered by the AC mains, able to deliver a high-frequency signal as output, the peak factor of which offers a substantially reduced value. The device according to the invention comprises a converter 2 the output of which is loaded by the transformer 3. The secondary 3b of the said transformer loads the receiver 5 via the capacitor 4 and a recovery circuit comprising the capacitor 6 associated with the rectifier bridge 7, this circuit providing compensation for the power factor of the current taken from the mains, the reduction in the harmonic distortion of the said current as well as the reduction of the peak factor of the current passing through the said receiver.
