The grid electrode of an electron gun for cathode ray tube is disclosed in which a single projection for confirming the front and back faces is formed on the corner of the front edge, and a confirming groove for discriminating the top and bottom is formed on the middle of upper edge, thereby improving the discharge characteristic of the electron gun.
