The invention relates to a device for stacking products (2) in sheet form, CHARACTERISED in that, in addition to a surface (8) constituting a support for the base of a stack (9) which the device (1) has to form by superposing the products (2) via the opposing faces (2A, 2B) which they include, it comprises: - located upstream of the braking means (4), a means (10) for displacing the product (2) in a plane (P2) which, passing between the cylindrical members (5, 6) of the braking means (4) is substantially tangential to the cylindrical body (5B) of that of the members of the braking means which carries the stop (5C), and - located downstream of the braking means (4), a means (11) for accompanying the said products (2) over a distance which is substantially equivalent to the dimension of these products (2) in the direction (S1) of displacement, which accompanying means (11) interacts with that (2A) of the faces (2A, 2B) of the product which is oriented upwards. <IMAGE>
