The invention relates to a rotor of an electrical machine, in the case of which at least one of the winding overhangs is protected against centrifugal force stresses by means of a binding. The end of the binding is fixed, without any risk of the binding turns becoming loose, in a simple manner in that a holding part (5) is wound in between the winding layers (4) of the binding (3), which holding part (5) is provided with at least one row of prongs (8) which run transversely with respect to the webs of the binding (3) and point radially outwards. <IMAGE>
