Method and apparatus for pollutant analysis of water samples

A suspension of photobacteria is removed from a cooled reservoir (4) and mixed in a mixing vessel (7) with a salt solution and the water sample to be analysed. The intensities of the light emitted by the mixture are measured in a darkened measuring chamber immediately after mixing (measurement point A) and again (measurement point B) after a preset reaction time. The two values obtained from these measurements are compared with one another as basis for the pollutant analysis. <IMAGE>
