In the device proposed for recognising the colour of objects located in the bowls of blister films 1, in particular tablets, the light originating from an infrared transillumination unit 5 and passing through the blister film is registered by a black and white camera 15 having an infrared pass filter 17 placed in front of it and the light from a vertical illumination unit 7, which light is reflected from the blister film having the tablets, is registered by a colour camera 11 of the same imaging scale with an infrared blocking filter 13 arranged in front of it. Both the image contents are processed together in such a way that the outlines, supplied by the black and white camera, of the shadow images of the tablets define the region in which the image content of the colour camera is evaluated. In this way, a reliable determination of the presence and the correct colour or colour distribution of the tablets located in the blister bowls is achieved. <IMAGE>
