<p>In order to improve the adaptability and operational reliability of machining devices which to orientate a laser beam are equipped with a focussing system and a movable, interchangeable deflection mirror, the following configuration is proposed: the focussing system (3) - as viewed in the direction of the laser beam (1) - is arranged in front of the deflection mirror (5), the distance of which from the focussing system is continuously adjustable. In the area covered by the laser beam, the gas-cooled deflection mirror (5), which rotates about an axis (5c) of rotation inclined relative to the longitudinal axis of the laser beam, has a plane mirror surface or several mirror surfaces (5b, 5d), each plane in themselves, and a peripheral velocity of at least 5 m/sec, the laser beam (1) being formed in such a way that it strikes the deflection mirror (5) eccentrically. <IMAGE></p> |
