The invention relates to an apparatus for charging burning kilns using burning aids. In the charging of burning kilns, use is made of burning aids, so-called setters, which are composed of a plurality of levels of burning-aid plates. Since deposits form on these burning-aid plates and the ceramic ware leaves behind impurities on feeding units, it is to be avoided according to the invention that ceramic ware which is thus unusable results. This is achieved according to the invention in that the charging of the existing burning aids is started from the uppermost level and the emptying from the lowermost level, for which purpose each pushing element has a separate drive.
