In a space (10) which is in communication via openings (9) with the inner space (1) of a showcase, there are accommodated receptacles (11) which have an air-permeable casing (2) and are filled with a medium (3) for influencing the air humidity. Situated in the interior of the receptacle (11) is preferably an air-permeable tube (4) which is in communication via a connection piece (5) with the outside world. Via a further connection piece (6) for the space (10) and the connection piece (5), it is possible to connect an appliance which, when the air humidity in the inner space (1) of the showcase exceeds or falls below a preset value, pumps either dry or moist air through the air-permeable tube (4) into the receptacles (11), and does so until the preset air-humidity value is reached again. <IMAGE>
