<p>The device, meant for fitting strips with detachable protective paper in the rabbet of window panes and sills, consists mainly of a cylinder (12), a steering tube (11), a moveable unit (1), an activating unit (5), two knives (4 and 19), and a steady pivot (20). In order to fit a strip, this is led through the device, and the detachable protective paper is separated from the strip. The moveable steering unit (1) is now put against the side of the object, and the device is placed on the rabbet of the object. Pull the protective paper, and move the device forward. Now the weather strip will be applied on to the object parallel to the edge of the object, until the moveable steering unit (1) touches the corner of the frame. Now the strip is partly cut across by knife Nr. 1 (4), by a pressure of the cylinder (12). Then the device is now turned at right angles to the fitted strip, the steady pivot meanwhile ensuring the egde of shape of the strip, and allowing sufficient strip to be applied in the angular corner. The next step is to pull the protective paper, once again, for further fitting. When finished, the activating unit (5) is pressed, thus activating knife Nr. 2 (19), then the cylinder (12) for cutting off totally the strip at the end of fitting.</p> |
