In order to simplify the construction of an intermediate piece for a downpipe, it is proposed to arrange an upwardly conically tapering intercepting part (15) in an outer pipe part (12). The two parts (12, 15) form a collecting gutter (16) on which a discharge stub (14) is arranged. The intermediate piece is suitable, in particular, for rainwater downpipes. A filter device (17), which may advantageously be formed by a halical wire, is preferably arranged on the uer border of the collecting gutter (16). <IMAGE>
