The invention relates to a pressure-surge protection valve for preventing an unacceptable level of air pressure entering vehicles, in particular railway compartments. The object of the invention consists in providing a pressure-surge protection valve which, while retaining the advantages of the aforesaid solution and without additional pressure-protection vents, prevents unacceptable pressure surges entering the vehicles. In addition, a surge- and vibration-resistant design of the pressure-surge protection valve is to be provided with simple means. This problem is achieved with the measures of Claims 1 and 2. Advantageous refinements of the invention are disclosed in Claim 3 to 6. The invention ensures that, in the application disclosed, a high degree of operational reliability is provided despite negative environmental influences acting on the device.
