The title cpds. are esters in which at least one hydroxy gp. of the saccharide is esterified by the acyl radial of an antiinflammatory araliphatic carbocyclic acid, and the other hydroxy gps. of the saccharide molecule may be free, etherified by an opt. substd. hydrocarbon radical or esterified by an organic acyl radical, with the proviso that the 2-O-acyl radical of a glucofuranoside esterified with an antiinflammatory araliphatic carboxylic acid only in position 2 is not the O-acyl radical of a phenylcarboxylic acid in which the phenyl gp. is opt. substd. by lower alkoxy, lower alkyl, CF3 or halogen, including the salts of cpds. which contain a salifiable gp. The cpds. have low toxicity. |
