Modular electrical contact arrangement

A modular contact arrangement includes, at opposite ends, a first element and a second element, such as a wire sleeve element (20) or a contact element (50, 100) for example, which have either a socket contact section (62) or a pin contact section (108) at an end on the connection side, it being possible, if required, to arrange an intermediate piece (80) between the first element and the second element. Mounting sides (30, 84) of one of the elements (20) and of the intermediate piece (80) can in each case have a small diameter hole (28, 82) extending into them, and fastening sides (54, 88) of the respectively other element and of the intermediate piece can in each case have a cylindrical projection (56, 58) which extends away from them and has a diameter which is slightly larger than that of the small diameter holes, so that it can be fitted into the respective hole during assembly of the contact by the application of force. The wire sleeve element (20) can be used either with a pin contact element (100) or with a socket contact element (50), and the intermediate piece (80) makes it possible, if desired, to produce an extended socket contact arrangement (10) or an extended pin contact arrangement. <IMAGE>
