Nonwoven consisting of a plurality of layers and process and apparatus for producing it

A nonwoven consisting of a middle layer which is introduced between two unconsolidated fibrous webs is proposed. The two fibrous webs are thermally consolidated and connected to one another, and at the same time the middle layer is also incorporated. The middle layer is preferably a sheet-like web fabric which gives the structure higher mechanical strength. The character of a nonwoven is nevertheless preserved. The fibrous webs consist of thermoplastic fibres.
