The invention relates to a limit position switch for a chip card reader, comprising a switch and a spring element assigned to the switch, switch and spring element being able to be positioned together on the frame of the chip card reader, or together on a slide guided in the frame of the chip card reader for the accommodation of a chip card, or separately from each other on the frame and, respectively, on the slide, in such a way that a pressure force originating from the chip card can be transmitted via the spring element to the switch for its activation.
