In the case of a device for pouring out portions of liquids into containers using a volumetric metering chamber which is connected via a controllable inlet valve to a supply container for the liquid and via a controllable outlet valve to a filling nozzle, each metering chamber having at least one sensor which responds to its filling level assigned to it, the height of the metering chamber is much greater than the height necessary to accommodate the volume of a portion of liquid to be poured in and the two measuring points of the sensor, the vertical distance of which defines the volume of a portion of liquid to be poured, are jointly vertically adjustable with respect to the metering chamber. Rapid adaptation of the filling speed to the filling conditions without effort is possible in this manner.
