An oscillation assembly control circuit controls an electrothermal drive for a thermostatic valve continuously, via a thyristor optocoupler. In order to provide a simple circuit in conjunction with an electrothermal drive and to provide continuous control means, which are simple, can be installed rapidly and are easy to service, for heating circuits or similar application purposes, it is proposed that only those half waves of the mains having the same parity are used for heating a negative temperature coefficient resistor in the electrothermal drive and that, by means of the half waves of the mains directed in the opposite polarity, a measuring current flows to the negative temperature coefficient resistor via a decoupling diode, in order to acquire the temperature of the negative temperature coefficient resistor and of the expanding body connected thereto. <IMAGE>
