Burner-heated water heater for the heating of domestic hot water and heating water, in which there is provided a heating-water storage tank which is connected to a heat exchanger, and there is provided a domestic hot-water heater. In order to achieve a high efficiency with such a water heater, provision is made for the heating-water storage tank (10) to enclose the domestic hot-water heater (1, 24), the domestic hot-water heater (1, 24) being insulated with respect to the heating-water storage tank (10) by a layer of material of poor thermal conductivity. <IMAGE>
