In the case of a microwave apparatus having a steel container, which can be closed in a gas-tight manner by a cover, as a cavity resonator which is clad by an inner container which is intrinsically not pressure-resistant, in order to make it possible to replace the inner container easily on site it is proposed that multi-element supporting cladding (4), which partially fills the space between the steel container (1) and the inner container (3), be provided to absorb pressure forces, and that the steel container (1) have at least one connection (5) via which the space between the steel container (1) and the inner container (3) can be evacuated. <IMAGE>
