Method and device for pollutant analysis in water samples

A water sample to be analysed is mixed in a mixing vessel (5) with an algae suspension (8) withdrawn from a pure storage vessel (1). After a predetermined reaction time, the mixture is transferred into a measuring cuvette (29) and exposed to weak and modulated measurement light as well as to stronger and unmodulated photosynthetically active continuous light. As a function of the continuous light, the behaviour of the oxygen development of the fluorescence signals emitted by the mixture is detected. The measured values of the fluorescence and of the oxygen development are compared with each other in a computer (33) as a basis for the pollutant analysis. <IMAGE>
