A wound covering material containing at least macromolecules having a sol-gel transition point in an aqueous solution; substantially displaying a waterinsolubility at a temperature higher than the sol-gel transition point; and reversibly displaying a watersolubility at a temperature lower than the sol-gel transition point. Since this wound covering material can be kept in the state of a solution on the surface of a wound, it can be stuck fast to the surface of a wound of a complicated shape. In addition, this wound covering material provides a wound covering product capable of gelling speedily at the temperature of a wound and being stuck fast to the surface of a wound stably. This wound covering product is stable without being dissolved by exudate flowing from the surface of a wound, and promotes a healing process as it prevents the secretion of exudate from the surface of a wound until the wound has been healed.
