PURPOSE:To improve the recovery rate of high-purity rare earth elements and a complex forming agent by joining an adsorption tower packed with strong acidic cation exchange resin in which an aq. soln. consisting of both the mixture of rare earth elements and the complex forming agent had been passed to a separation tower packed with the above-mentioned resin and passing the complex forming agent aq. soln. CONSTITUTION:An aq. soln. consisting of both the mixture of rare earth elements and a complex forming agent is passed through an adsorption tower packed with strong acidic cation exchange resin and the mixture of rare earth elements is adsorbed and the complex forming agent aq. soln. free from rare earth elements is recovered. Then this adsorption tower is joined to a separation tower packed with strong acidic cation exchange resin and the complex forming agent aq. soln. is passed through the adsorption tower. By this method, rare earth elements can be precisely separated with each other. Further the complex forming agent loss can be reduced. |
