<p>PURPOSE:To improve steering ability with simple structure by a method wherein an apparatus for switching steering phases having double active cylinders each for an input and an output is interposed between the output side of a front wheel steering mechanism and the input side of the front wheel steering mechanism, and operation of the respective double active cylinders is controlled by a direction switching valve. CONSTITUTION:In a system for steering front and rear wheels 10 provided with a front steering unit 11 for steering a pair of front wheels 84, 85 and a rear power steering unit 12 for steering a pair of rear wheels 91, 92, both steering units 11, 12 are jointed with each other via an apparatus for switching steering phases 13. This apparatus for switching steering phases 13 consists of double active cylinders 38, 39 for the input and output, a piston rod 53 of the double active cylinder for the input 38 is jointed with the output of the front steering unit 11 and a piston rod 54 of the double active cylinder for the output 39 is jointed with the input of a control valve 28 of the rear power steering unit 12, respectively. Both double active cylinders 38, 39 are connected via a direction switching valve 14 so that the flow path between them is freely switchable.</p> |
