THERMAL HEAD DRIVING CIRCUIT

PURPOSE:To simplify the constitution of a device and make the image quality good by introducing printing data for drawing on a stored and retained printing line into a regenerative computing circuit together with the printing data for drawing on the following line. CONSTITUTION:A control signal is issued to a selector 14 by a control circuit 16, and desired printing data are selected from four line data regarding the issuing lines stored in the first and second memories 11 and 12, which are provided in shift registers of a thermal head 15. A latch signal is issued by the control circuit 16 to actuate the latch of the thermal head 15. Similarly printing pulses (small pulses) as a strobo are issued to a driver of the thermal head 15 to drive desired printing data. A control signal for controlling whether the power from a power source is supplied to an A phase printing element group or to a B phase printing element group of the thermal head 15 is issued to an AB phase switchover device 6 by the control circuit 16.
