1380736 Coating apparatus KUNSTSTOFFBURO PORTA GmbH & CO KG 3 March 1972 [5 March 1971] 9973/72 Addition to 1293019 Heading B2L [Also in Division F2] Apparatus for forming tubes of fibre reinforced plastics material by winding comprises a winding mandrel 22 to which cut lengths of reinforcing fibrous material 21 are fed in a dry state, and a roller 24 associated with the mandrel for conveying plastics material 26 to the fibrous material and is characterised by the provision of a stripper 100 downstream (in the direction of rotation) of the line of contact of the mandrel and the roller to draw back the plastics material to form a reserve against the mandrel. The stripper is the full width of roller 24 and may be reciprocated in the directoin of its length. To initially coat the mandrel with plastics material the feed of material 21 may be stopped during the first revolution of the mandrel. Pressure maybe applied to the material on the mandrel to ensure thorough impregnation. |
