<p>PURPOSE: To attain the method and the device for obtaining a prerecorded digital musical cassette by using a digital storage medium of a low capacity. CONSTITUTION: A digital audio signal is reproduced from a master medium 7 at a first bit speed, stored in a digital storage medium 10, then read out from this medium at a second bit speed, and recorded in a recording medium 20'. This audio signal is recorded in the track of the master medium 7 in the form of a first digital information signal having the channel word of n data bit. The n-bit channel word of this signal is converted into the information word of m-bit (n>m) at a unit 9, and stored in a medium 10 as a second digital information signal. The second signal read out from the medium 10 is converted into a third digital information signal corresponding to the first signal in a signal processing unit 11 and, in this case, the m-bit information word is reconverted to the n-bit channel word.</p> |
