<p>PURPOSE:To enable steelmaking of a large quantity of molten steel in high efficiency and the min. running cost without limiting electric power system capacity. CONSTITUTION:A three phase AC arc furnace 4 for steelmaking is arranged at the midway of two sets of blast furnaces 2, 3 and also a furnace shell 6 integrating a furnace hearth of the blast furnaces 2, 3 and the arc furnace 4 is provided. Charged raw material is melted down with plural jet burners and oxygen lances 7 arranged in the blast furnaces 2, 3 and the molten steel is heated and refined with submerged arc in the flat molten steel surface condition. By this method, the uniform molten steel is quickly obtd. and the secondary pollution due to exhaust gas is prevented.</p> |
