PURPOSE:To provide a document preparing device provided with a function capable of displaying the order of writing strokes in writing a 'KANJI' (Chinese character) or the like by means of outline font data and a function for displaying or printing out phonetic symbols for English words. CONSTITUTION:A CPU 1 generates character division pattern data corresponding to a character code specified out of inputted character codes based upon font data in a character division table 8a stored in an FDD 8 in accordance with the order of writing strokes in writing a Chinese character. The generated character division pattern data are displayed on the display screen of a display device 3 in accordance with the order of writing. The CPU 1 determines a phonetic symbol data series corresponding to specified word data by using a phonetic symbol data base 8b stored in the FDD 8. A phonetic symbol pattern data series is generated from the determined phonetic symbol data series and outputted to a display device 3 or a printing device 4. |
